Testing
SAT and ACT Test Information
Many colleges and universities across the country will accept scores from either the SAT or ACT exams as a requirement for college admission and scholarships.
Consult the websites of your potential schools of choice prior to the admission requirements. Some colleges are “SAT/ACT optional,” which means that the scores are not required for admission but for class placement and scholarships.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many colleges and universities have decided to admit students on a SAT/ACT test-optional basis. However, even if these tests may no longer be necessary for college admissions, they are still crucial for Florida Bright Futures Scholarships and other scholarships given by a particular college or university. Please contact the university of the students’ interest regarding admission requirements.
Students should take both the SAT and the ACT. The reason we recommend that students take both tests at least once is so they can experience both tests and compare their results. The SAT and ACT are both digital at RPS, and students must bring their own laptops to the test center. The ACT has a Science section that the SAT does not. Make sure you take both tests and check your scores in the comparison table provided by Magnolia Prep.
